The Do’s and Don’ts of CA Exam Preparation

Preparation for exams requires a lot of labour. And CA exams are no different. There are some do’s and don’ts, which one has to keep in mind while preparing for exams. Few of them are listed below:

Starting Preparation on the day of exams

The first on the list is starting the preparation on the day of the exam or just a day prior to the exam. It is a Big No given the syllabus of CA course being so vast. It will not only create unnecessary stress it also affects the performance in exams. Therefore, it is important to start preparing early, allocating the time for each and every subject and topic.

The Power of Planning

One important aspect of preparation is planning. The planning must be done in such a way that there is proper allocation for studying as well as revising. A time table must be prepared so as to decide what needs to be studied on each day. It is equally important to adhere to the planning. It won’t be wrong to say that planning and adhering to the planning are two sides of the same coin.

Don’t neglect Revisions

Majority of students who fail are due to lack of revisions. The most important part of the whole exam preparation is revision. Make a proper plan and revise at least two to three times before the exams. Even a ranker needs revision of minimum two to three times. These days revision lectures are also available of many faculties. Make the best of it as it saves a lot of time.

Practise Writing Exams

Solve earlier year question papers. Take the mock tests conducted by ICAI and other private coaching centers. It will allow you to know the gray areas in which you need additional preparation. This also helps in enhancing the speed of answering, reduces the fear of exams and also makes you confident about your preparation.

Don’t Panic and Stay Focused

Even if you are lagging behind in your preparation don’t panic. Panicking may lead to losing focus. Remember planning is the key. Study with a positive attitude and stay calm as it is all about mental game.

Take Time Out for Relaxation

No matter how tight your schedule is you need to take time out for relaxation. Going for short walks or doing something which interests you, helps you rejuvenate and bounce back.It will also help you to keep your focus on and perform better.

Don’t Lament over Past

There might have been times when you have failed in earlier attempts. But that shouldn’t haunt you and affect your present. Learn from the past mistakes and let go of the past. Nothing is permanent, not even the failure.

Don’t Quit

Last but the most important – Never Quit. If you really want the Prefix in front of your name, you are going to get it. There may be little delay but eventually you will get it. Never give up. Struggle for the title and you will achieve the result. All the efforts will be worth it when you will see “pass” on your marksheet. Therefore, Never Quit.
